I like the built in rafter hook. The nr83a5 is one of the best built framing nailers available but after our battery of tests it came in 10th place overall. I just bought paslode gas for the nailer and swapped tips. It s very comfortable to handle lightweight and it s depth adjustment works as consistently as any framing nailer that i ve used.

The nailer is powered by a single 3 ah battery. The only thing i dislike about the hitachi compared to the passload is the belt hook. The hitachi is better balanced and does not tire your hand as quick when shooting nails above your head for several minutes. I know companies are going to bags but i have to admit that i wish they would still come in boxes instead of bags.
